Integrate Synap with your learning management system using LTI or embedded launches.
Synap integrates with learning management systems, including platforms not listed here. Customers commonly use Blackboard, Moodle, and Canvas as their central learning platforms. Synap provides the exam-specific functionality.
These integrations are available to Enterprise customers. Speak with your account manager for implementation advice tailored to your LMS and workflow.
Most LMS integrations use LTI, embedding, or both.
Use LTI where your LMS supports this standard. It provides single sign-on, content launches, and gradebook passback.
Synap supports LTI 1.3 / Advantage and LTI 1.1. Use LTI 1.3 / Advantage where possible.
Use embedded launches when you need Synap inside your LMS interface. Embedding can use an API-generated session token or a JSON Web Token.
An embedded approach can hide Synap navigation and keep the learner within your LMS experience.
Synoptic and Rosalyn proctoring cannot run inside an embedded environment.
If proctoring is required, embed Synap until the learner launches the exam. Open the exam in its own window, or launch the proctoring desktop application. This keeps the journey seamless and avoids a second sign-in.
