# Plagiarism & AI Detectors

Customers integrate Synap with plagiarism and AI detection tools, including Turnitin and PlagiarismChecker.

Synap does not provide a built-in integration for these services. However, we have supported several implementations. You can build an integration using Synap APIs and webhooks.

### Typical approach

1. Create custom response or attempt attributes for the data you need.
2. Configure an **Exam Submitted** webhook to trigger the workflow.
3. Use the V3 API to retrieve the submitted response data.
4. Send the response to your chosen detection service using its API key.
5. Receive and extract the relevant result data.
6. Store the result in the response or attempt attributes.

### Store results

Attributes can store structured or unstructured detection results. For example, you can store:

* Free text, such as a summary or unstructured result data.
* Numeric values, such as a plagiarism percentage or detection score.
* Enums, files, and URLs.

These attributes keep the detection data attached to the relevant response or attempt.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://academy.synap.ac/doc/integrations/other-integrations/plagiarism-and-ai-detectors.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
