There are lots of ways you can customise your portal, if you've not already head over to Settings from the main menu to get started.

Settings pages

🪖 General

General is where you can customise the high level things on the portal. Keep in mind the Portal name is used in all email correspondence to your users. You can't change your portal URL from here but leave a message using the chat widget and one of our support team will be happy to assist

Mobile apps

When enabled your users can have access to Synap's iOS and Android mobile apps. Users will be able to download these apps from their profile pop up.
Choose whether or not to hide / show Synap's default footer to students (note this will always need to show for admins). Decide whether or not to use our Terms & conditions and Privacy policy or add in your own. This can either be a external link (Custom URL) or create your own using a note on Synap.

🐴 ➡ 🦄 Branding

Customise the portal with your own branding, add logos, colours and a default card image. Upload clear, high quality images in the recommended sizes (see below)
  • Logo - Used across the platform, in emails & generated certificates - 300x100px
    • Recommend a PNG with transparent background
  • Square logo - Used in the top left corner home button throughout the portal - 100x100px
    • Recommend a PNG with transparent background
  • Favicon - Used in web tabs - 30x30px
    • Recommend a PNG with transparent background
  • Default card - Used when custom covers aren't provided for exams, collections, collection items, courses & assignments - 490x300px
    • Recommend not including too much text on covers as they are responsive, default cards and cards are the same size. If users are going to have lots of content we recommend making the top level cards (courses & collections) different so they can easily navigate through them, then having a default card for each bit of content works well.
Using different cards for different content
  • Primary colour - A hex code that will sets your menu icon colour as well as all titles
  • Secondary colour - A hex code to set all the secondary colours on platform (card buttons)
  • Primary & Secondary button colour - will be inferred from Primary and Secondary so leave blank if you want them to be the same.

🚘 Registration

Go to the /Registration page to make changes to important settings around how users access the platform and design the look and feel of the login page.
🚨 Sign-up method is really important - if you don't want users to be able to create their own account you should leave it as closed (ie if you're selling exams or learning)
  • Sign-up method - how users can sign up for the portal, if closed there will be no 'Get started' button and users will be advised to contact the administrator for access details.
  • Allowed domains - list domains you want to allow to create accounts
  • Title - Top line on the login page (see below)
  • Description - Paragraph below the title on the login page, supports links, see below.
  • Background image - Main image shown to the left of the login page. As this page is responsive we recommend not including lots of text or anything that can be cropped. Click here for a template with a safe zone indicated - Use a high quality rectangle image around 1430x945px
