Once a Synoptic exam is finished it will be ready to be reviewed by and admin or other moderator (educator) for users in that exam group. To find exam attempts ready to review go to the Exam > Users page under the Manage section. Use the Proctoring status column to identify attempts.

### 👀 Review an attempt

Select an attempt that's proctoring is **Ready for review using the check box on the left,** then use the control panel to open the proctoring review for that session.

On the attempt proctoring review page you'll be able to view the different recordings and captures through out the attempt, leave comments, and jump to the different events and breaches of the candidate.

#### Event log

The event log details the different checks through out the exam, note that the detected breaches depend on what Synoptic configuration you set for this exam.

* 🔵 **Interval checks** are performed every few seconds and show as blue. During interval checks no breaches have been detected by the system.
* 🔴 **Breaches** are detected upon a candidate breaking one of the configurable rules (opened new tab, plugged in external monitor, window lost focus, revoked sharing permissions)
* 🟢 **Resolved** follow from breaches are when the candidate has resolved the breach

Event log

#### Captures

Captures are taken every 5-8 seconds through out the candidates attempt, see below the candidate has opened a new chrome window which isn't immediately recorded by the screen recreation but you can see on the capture its caught the new window as well as the candidate.

Proctoring sessions will need to be passed or failed and if marking is required this will need to be completed in order to finalise and release results. Once the attempt is finalised and released - you will not be able to change the status of the proctoring review.

{% content-ref url="../../mark-score-attempts" %}
[mark-score-attempts](https://academy.synap.ac/doc/exams/mark-score-attempts)
{% endcontent-ref %}

Select attempts that have been reviewed and marks are complete, then **finalise** them, this means no further changes can be made by moderators to that attempt. Then when you're ready select all finalised attempts to release them using the control panel.
